Picnic Bench

This lovely, sturdy picnic bench (finished in my wife's favourite colour palette) is the ideal size for the kids to sit outside and enjoy their lunch in the garden. The wood used to make this creation had a previous life as a herb planter that I built many years ago, but when we were moving house the planter was too big to transport. We were having new concrete planters built anyway for the new house so the existing planter was dismantled and together with some timber left over from erecting our garden fence I decided to make a functional piece of garden furniture!
